As an Elderboard, we have decided to continue meeting outdoors for now, weather permitting, due to the Coronavirus. If the weather necessitates that we meet indoors, we respectfully ask, for now, for your compliance with the CDC and social distancing, 6 ft. guidelines. As other churches are doing, we ask that you wear a mask upon entering and exiting the building and when using the restrooms, but if you choose not to wear a mask once seated, that is up to you. The sanctuary is set up accordingly and families of the same household may, of course, sit together.
Though we may not have concerns personally, others near us may feel differently, and so we wish to honor those concerns in a Christ-like manner. We will not be offering food nor beverages at this time. We anticipate a shortened Service hour while inside with a bit less singing due to the closer proximity between us overall and the size of our sanctuary. We are also asking that you would not remain in the building following the Service, but rather you can continue your conversations with others outside. If we are meeting outside, some of these restrictions would, of course, not apply, though we are still asking for compliance with the social distancing guidelines outdoors.
Thank you for your understanding of these requests. Many churches are making similar decisions to help protect their congregants. We'd rather be a bit cautious than too careless. Hopefully, as the weeks go forward, we will be able to get back to things a bit more normally. Thanks again for your understanding. May God bless you!
